Fiesta red, rosewood flat radius fingerboard, lollar pickups. My guitar prodigy friend's dad had scored an original '50s tele when we were in high school, and my buddy brought it over to my house one time. Everyone knew me as the "banjo guy".īut I always wanted a tele. I went through several banjo's, eventually got a really nice Enoch open back banjo. I taught myself claw hammer and played the crap out of that thing -forgetting all about guitar for a few years. The neck wouldn't stay on straight an I had to replace the 5th tuning peg.

That guitar broke and at some point a friend gave me a hand me down harmony banjo. I was really into John Fahey at that point. I played almost exclusively open tunings, fingerstyle stuff. I would hang out in my dorm and make all kinds of weird stuff. When I went away to college I picked up an old lap steel guitar. I took a couple lessons, never really made much progress. He inspired me to get my first (guitar was a real piece of junk archtop by Washburn). He opened for Bonamassa and EJ when we were like 16. I had friend in high school who was no joke a guitar prodigy (mid 2000's). Gretsch masterbuilt 3 pickup Green Penguinĭuesenberg the one with the black textured coveringįender Maurauder replica (the one with the hidden pickups) Kustom hollowbody (I dont recall the model) I stopped aying for a number of years as I was too busy with a business I started.įender Competition Mustang (purpleburst) X 2 I had that one guitar for 20 years (not counting cheap acoustic guitars my friends found in the garbage and gave me which I never played. After a year of begging, my parents bought it. It took a while before getting my first Gibson which was Gibson V2 and happened to be the most expensive Gibson solidbody that year. I decided I wanted a real Gibson, so i exchanged it for an amp. I had a Vantage Leas Paul copy for about a week. It was way too neck heavy now so I traded it back to him. Tinted the wood transparent light red and painted it with enough clear paint to fill the texture of the plywood lines. I traded something to him for it and sanded the top down to find a plywood textured board underneath. It was a Japanese cheap guitar bought by a friend at an outlet store for about $30. I'll try starting a list and I'll add to it when I remember.ġst guitar wasn't really mine. Probably forgot a few, fun exercise though, I'm in a golden period at the moment where I just feel so lucky to have so many guitars that exceed my expectations on how good a guitar could be.īecause there would be way too many for me to recall at any one time.
